RS4 open boot from inside cabin!
RS4 open boot from inside cabin!
Last year I was speaking to an Audi technician regarding another matter and I mentioned how much of a pain it was to not have a boot open button from inside the vehicle, he mentioned you could and actually showed me! Problem is ive forgotten the combination of buttons he used
It was one (or poss both) of the buttons in the driver side door pocket and maybe another too, I cant find any mention of it anywhere.... anyone any ideas?

Just one button in the driver side pocket, you pull it rather than push and it releases the boot.

Re: RS4 open bonnet from inside cabin!
I don’t think I have a boot button inside but I’ve never know it to cause me an issue that I feel I need one.
The boot and bonnet are two different things though.
Cheers

Nope. Mine's like that too.suurenmoinen wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 6:38 amI don't have any button inside the cabin to open the bonnet In the door panel I have two buttons related with the alarm and the immoviliser

Boot is a none issue. It's not powered anyway, and to get stuff out of it you have to be round there
I find the powered tailgates on other cars more useful for closing the thing with hands full using gestures. But it wouldn't be a showstopper for me on any car.

ah just seen, what a plonker I wrote Bonnet for some stupid reason ... booooooooot, now fixed
and yes there are two buttons both related to the alarm but cant remember what he pressed to open the boot

lol I fixed my message too
Has anybody retrofitted the button? I fitted these some years ago and it would be very convenient:

Re: RS4 open boot from inside cabin!
I got stuck in the highlands as a electric fault emptied my battery overnight and I had to find and fit a new battery in the rain with a car full of luggage, baby seats etc.
There was no way to jump the car under the bonnet, so therefore no open boot, so I had to take the battery through the car. Those who have lifted one of these batteries know how heavy they are.
Lots of heaving and swearing ensued; what a day that was.
Got home from Kilmarnoch to Derby in limp mode. Not the best journey.

Re: RS4 open boot from inside cabin!
And that happened with an RS4 B7? On mine, and likely on any other, there is, in the engine bay, center & close to the windscreen, an access hatch to get to terminals where you can easily connect a booster pack or any other type of battery. The hatch cover even shows a battery symbol...
.

+1
Thats what I thought, jumping connections in the middle of the panel in front of the windscreen.

...which is fine if you have a booster or jump leads...
I didn't add that Storm Diane was in full force and I had to walk 1.5 miles from the nearest town carrying the battery.
