Leather Revive

Post by Mark Park » Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:01 pm

Just had the seats front and rear re dyed and filled. Pauld did a amazing job and for £240 has changed the car it looks brand new now on the inside. Blown away witht the results, i was rushing to get pics and he turned up so i could only get a quick couple of before pics.
Ill post his info below for anyoneone who would be interested in this. He said the leather was high quality and enjoyed working on it, it came up like new in 3 hours and im blown away. I will get some more pics tomorrow it looks like new. Shame is i had pics of the cracks and how bad they are but i wiped whats app when i got some not o nice videos sent me and it wiped the lot.
I was rushing with the pics ill get some that are the same as the before ones tomorrow, but you see the difference leaps and bounds.

How does this process work and does it wear off? Can you which area has been don’t or is it done all over all sections?

Have a look on the website, there's videos on there going through the process.

Do you have buckets?
Be good to see how the bolsters look after being treated.

From what i saw he spend ages cleaning the leather with a small hand brush, he had 3 buckets of warm water of me and when i changed the water it was black with dirt. Then he dried the seat he was working on and used fine grit sand paper and some chemical, he smothe all the cracks over and then applied a rubber sealant over the area. He then used a chemical to put some of the dye up from the seat that took straight away to the cracks. I think this was like a undercoat for the new dye to bond to. Then he mixed his own die and tested in timy parts to get the match. Then he worked his magic and applied the die to the seat and a lacquer, i think it was breathable lacqure you would have to ask paul.
Thats what i noticed might not be the correct procedure its just what i noticed when i was watching. For £240 i think ill just ring him up each year and get it done.

Hi Mark,

It was more aimed at Fatneck73 as the bucket bolsters take more of a beating than the comfort seats I would imagine.

It's good to see the results though, looks like a good job.
Could be something I look into, I'll put it on the list!
Looks like he's based in Lancs and I'm not too far away so deffo something to consider.

Cheers
Mike

Just had a leather 'revival' from Paul who travelled down south to work on my car. I've been trying to book him since May!

So far so good - the seats have come up really well - absolutely no sign of the main damage to the drivers' side bolster. Apparently with normal wear should be a couple of years till its needed again.

Difficult to say how it will last, only time will tell but looks good - ill update if anything changes but would recommend. Cost £280 as I was down south.
