Replace CD Autochanger with DAB/USB/Bluetooth

Hi

Has anyone successfully managed to get more modern audio options without replacing the head unit ? There seem to be quite a few gadgets out there but little in the way of reviews, and the properly integrating ones seem to be for the 8K models rather than 8E. I've got the Bose system with satnav and bluetooth phone handsfree.

Ideally I'd either like to replace the CD changer with a new unit, or wire something into the glovebox / centre console without swapping out the head unit.

Yes you can buy a £50 eBay jobbie that connects a little box into the cd changer port, and can be hidden behind the head unit

Allows you to Bluetooth your phone through the head unit

This is a system several of us got, Dension, and works well.

See link, and several options pending your setup. I have Euro wheel controls so can only do the lite unit - blue, but did it together with usb accessories to hard line phone with charging when I need together with typical streaming or lightning cable for iphone.

Keep it, yes, but not functioning for me as I got iPod unit hooked up. However, lots of options and perhaps one of their harnesses retains it.

Just spoke to a dension supplier. It sounds like their DAB unit re-broadcasts on FM which I was trying to avoid. So Dension is just for BT/USB.
