New to me B7 - Clutch Problem

Hi guys! First post here after picking up my first V8 a couple of weeks! A lovely B7 Avant in Misano!

This morning though when starting the car, I have found the clutch not fully actuating and not disconnecting the drive when fully depressed. It is actuating enough to allow the clutch to slip slightly but not enough to make gear changes possible without forcing it with a bit of the old Rev matching. There’s been no and is still no sticking of the pedal to the floor or anywhere in the throw like I’ve read in other threads.

Don’t know what would cause this to happen with the car stood? It was absolutely fine prior and there has been no obvious deterioration. The bite point has always been relatively low down in the throw so I can’t imagine it’s wear? There is still full correct feeling in the pedal and it does not ‘pump up’ - does anyone have any experience of this one?

Cheers!

Has the bite point changed? A low one on mine meant wear and was remedied by a new clutch, I'm afraid.

When the pedal sticks down after hard use, that's remedied by Dot 5.1 clutch fluid (higher boiling point).

You will get lots of opinions, but you need a new clutch and flywheel.

How many miles on the car?
I would do these steps to see if any correct the issue.
1 flush and bleed clutch fluid
2 check master and slave for leaks
3 replace slave
4 replace clutch last resort

Just purchased one from Rock auto in the states delivered to the door for around 480 that's the cheapest you will get.

You can do some research here
https://www.autohausaz.com/catalog/k/au ... _/flywheel

Looks like clutch + flywheel $950
Replace slave cyl, Fork and bolts while in there
Clutch comes with throw out bearing and pilot bearing

When I sold mine it had 85k miles and clutch was fine
