I have replaced front discs and pads had the calipers rebuilt and on heavy braking I have a judder. When heaving braking it's like pulsing but every light braking feels like abs kicking in just as it comes to a stop. I'm totally at a loss spent a fortune and still not sure. Brakes feel strong. I went with reyland discs so no holes. Cleaned all the surfaces up. I'm beginning to think a back disc is warped

I had this on my old R32, thought the front brakes had uneven deposits on them so had them skimmed only to find out it was the rears that were the problem!

You would have sworn it was the fronts from the drivers seat due to the vibrations.

Went back and had the rears done and the problem was solved.

Hope you get it fixed.

Sounds so familiar it's only on really hard braking. Plenty of meat on the back so I will get them skimmed nothing to lose iv spend enough this far! And that's me being a tight scotsman

The Golf sat for 4 weeks over the winter period with the handbrake off and still the rear pads stuck themselves to the discs!

I am based in Edinburgh but not adverse to spending money when needed ;-)

There is a place in Cockenzie that has a procut brake skimming machine that is big enough to do the front disc on the RS4 if they ever need doing.

I'm just outside Glasgow. There is a place not far away that has the pro cut machine I'll get the back done and hopefully that's them sorted. Hardly any lip at all on them I'm thinking a clean up will do the job

Always best to measure them though, the previous owner might have skimmed them as well, so no lip is never a guarantee of lots of wear left.

I will check them before committing to it.
