Exhausts

Post by 12th » Sun Feb 17, 2019 3:40 pm

Any thoughts about this quandary? I have an MRC stage 2, without bangs and pops. The non-sport mode is sluggish and I never use it, but would like a little more noise from the exhaust in sport whilst keeping it civil and civilised as the car is my daily driver. Basically, more noise on full throttle and high revs, not so much additional when pootling about. Oh, and any additional oomph is obviously a welcome thing. Suggestions?

If your exhaust is stock, I would say delete the resenator with whatever configuration you want, straight, X or H pipes.

Cheers

What is a rough cost of the resonator delete option?

Your local exhaust fabricator would be able to do all three options fairly cheaply I would think, not really a big job.

I love the sound of mine :kissmyrings:

Think mine was less than £200.

Exhaust is still standard. When it was last serviced there are signs of wear to some flexible metal mesh sections towards the rear.

Are you talking about the flexis on the down pipes? I would go for a resonater delete, would be ideal for what you want.

I hate to admit it, but I don't really understand all the terminology! These bits are towards the end, nearer the exhaust tips.

I don’t think there any flexi joints that end, just on the down pipes. Good idea to have a look when it’s on the ramp getting the work done

Anyone had this done in the Surrey area?
I've tried a couple of places, one just wanted to sell me a complete custom system and the other has quoted £360 which seems a bit steep.

Cheers

I just had mine done by QST (well, a guy they use). Not sure on cost as was part of the deal when buying but £250-300 I would guess. Straight pipes. Noice. 😜
