Hi, Guys just Fitted some 8mm H&R wheel spacers today, took car for a drive and there's now vibration coming through steering wheel between 60 to 70 mph, Before fitting spacers there was no issues at all, I did clean hub before fitting spacers, just wondering if anyone had similar issues after fitting 8mm spacers?

Are they hubcentric? If not then they might just be off centre a little. If they are hubcentric then give the hub and spacer (both sides) and wheel face another clean.

If still vibrating try swapping front and rear wheels.

It’s also possible that having the spacers has emphasised a slight mid Alan W that wasn’t noticeable when the wheels were further in, so worth getting the balance checked somewhere trustworthy.

Thankyou guys for your reply the spacer are not hubcentric, but haa got a inner bezal, which I faced against Axel bearing hub and the flat side against wheel, there is about 4mm on hub where wheel sit on

Unfortunely you need the hubcentric
The bevel is what centers the wheel
And there are several different angles so need the right ones

You can try this:
Loosen bolts a bit
Jack car up
Remove wheel
Clean all surfaces with some steel wool/brake cleaner
Replace wheel
Tighten bolts off ground (have someone depress brake)
Torque to 80% of spec in a pattern
Then to 100% in pattern

May help but likely only temporarily

I I am having the same problem with 8mm H&R spacers too. Their 8mm spacers are not hubcentric, not sure its possible on 8mm spacers. Have tried the special tightening sequence and hubs were cleaned prior to fitting. Going to try a decent wheel balance next. Would a heavier locking bolt cause the issue?

They definitely are, important to make sure you get the correct part number as they do manufacture spacers without the "hubcentric" feature.
They even do them with hub adapters to convert your 57.1mm hub to a 66.5mm center bore as in my case where I also have a set of OEM 20 inch rims.

This is what you need I have then on my car for the 19 inch wheels.

H&R dont do Hub centric pretty much on everything less than 10 mm as there isnt enough thickness to do it . the bexel you spoke about ? it doesnt stick out does it the spacer must be perfectly flat against the Hub Clean and no rust or dirt . fit the spacer onto the hub and wobble it around to see if its fitting flush . any play there will cause big trouble including wheels coming lose in a short time .

Steve, the ones you ordered me for my 19” rims as well as the set James order me recently for the 20” rims are all hub-centric.

I've had several sets of H&R 8mm spacers over the years and all were hubcentric. Their 5mm spacers are not available as hubcentric but all sizes above this are.

I made the mistake of buying non-hubcentric spacers too and had exactly the same issue. Had to pay for hubcentric ones in the end and had no issues at all.

These were 8mm H&R on 19" OEM alloys for B7 Avant.

RS4 SA , thanks for the info , i have supplied many spacers with out being hubcentric but i guess on thinner spacers its very dependant on the cars hub and how far the spigot detail sticks out from the disc face >
