Over run / crackle option

When i had my car stage 2'ed at MRC, they added the overrun/crackle to the map. To be honest I did like this BUT not all the time as it would have annoyed the neighbours but also im no spring chicken. I went back the following day and they kindly removed this form the map but did say they were looking into trying to find a way of adding the overrun / crackle to a button inside the car so that it was optional and I would actually go for this as it does make sense to be able to turn it off as and when you want.

Anyway a year on MRC have either decided to not go for this or they cant solve how to do it, I did ask them a few months ago but they still didn't manage to come up with this system as of yet. SO MY QUESTION, has anyone found another company that can do this ? as I say I do like the sound but not all the time and as with most of us its a case of have it or don't have it but there is always a time and a place so it would be cool to have it at the push of a button.

I also have mrc stage 2 with crackle and love it but occasionally it does draw attention when perhaps not appropriate lol
You'd like to think that the crackle map could be linked to the sport button. I'm no expert on this but my S button changes throttle response which I'd have thought is part of the map

You would think the ecu could take two maps if the throttle response changes, i had an astra that was the same and had the sport button map changed only

the problem is my car is pretty loud already, and a little louder than usual which I do like but the over run is far far too loud and pops plus as much as I love that im not a teenager or even in my 20's anymore so yes its fun but not something I want on all the time sadly. To have it added to sport button wouldn't help matters as I must be honest I drive permantly with sport mode on as the car seems to be mapped more towards the sport button so driving without it is a big difference more so than when standard so id require a totally separate button altogether but seems no one knows where I can get this done so maybe that's why MRC have not worked it out either as maybe it cant be done, it was them who did suggest it in the first place well over a year ago though so I would have thought if it was possible they would be ontop of it by now

Picking up on a related question, I wanted to check whether anyone has the overrun/crackle map tweak with main cats in place?

I got a Stage 2 re-map, pre-cats gutted and centre res delete 2.5 years ago.

I'm now considering a map tweak to include the flat shift, launch control and overrun/crackle.

I understand the latter can destroy any cats in place but wouldn't removing the cats altogether cause major issues with MOTs?

I didn't know that they could add a form of launch control to the map - anyone know how it works or how effective it is? (i.e. does it make the car faster off the line than standard, or just mean a perfect getaway every time? - It's not a hard car to get a great start in anyway!)

Yes, that is my understanding of MRCs amended re-map.

The noise/performance comes at the expense of fried cats I believe.

Has anyone had the remap done with cats in place? Or is it better to go down the route of decatted downpipes before remapping?
