iPod connection

Hi

This is my first B7 , I have a older iPod connection in the glove box, I can’t find a setting for it anywhere in the audio settings, also, I’ve bought an adapter for my iPhone 5s or 7 neither seem to work ..... please help!!!

I think you have to enable the aux in on your RNSE,I could be wrong though as I’m not very techno savvy.

That looks after market, pull the stereo and see why is behind it. When you select CD on the head unit and then press source what do you see?

When I press the source button

I get this
2006 2-tone merlin purple , decat delete, res delete, x-pipe and rear back box delete......rs5 alloys.. silver brake callipers

Ok so the head unit has been coded. I would have a look behind the unit to make sure it is all plugged in and something hasn’t come apart.

Is that an apple adaptor or aftermarket one? The one you are using to go from old connector to new connector?

I remember aftermarket ones not working.

Have you plugged anything into the original plug to check it works? Old iPhone or iPod?

Haha, I think think this is as simple as the converter being used doesn’t work. Plugging an old device into it would confirm it though.

Out of intrest..... is it straight forward to connect a 3.5 aux jack instead????

Yes but....if your iPod lead is working, get one of these and it’s Bluetooth so no need to plug in.
