Post by MrRSB7 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 11:25 pm

Hi,
I’ve just bought my first B7 RS4,had it one month and I love it

How can I tell if the car has the standard DRC suspension , and how can I tell if it’s been lowered?

Many thanks

If it has the standard DRC the shocks will be connected via hydraulic pipes. If you can park a car in the gap between the top of the wheel and the arch it’s on standard springs.

Hi there . the Hydraulic pipes are indeed connected to the shocks from the body coupled to a charging valve , I think the easy way is to look at the colour of the shock . most after market shockers ( performance ones ) arent black . the standard shocks will also have Audi part numbers if you can get into the wheel arch to look . The standard car does have a slightly bigger front wheel arch gap than the rear this is purposely done to allow clear movement of the front steering wheels . the gap is usually about 50 to 60 mm in front , or say 3 fingers . Quality lowering kits will lower no more than 20 to 25 ,mm . if it. s really low it will have a coil over kit which you will easily recognise as the ride will be quite a bit firmer .

Your car is too high if you can get your hand in between the top of the tyre and wing
