Seat swap

Post by SprintBlue » Tue Oct 23, 2018 6:14 pm

Good evening
First question from a long time lurking member.
Finally went ahead and changed my Recaro comfort seats for some proper race buckets. No airbags or electric adjustments whatsoever. Had been reading up on the airbag warning light problem and got resistors to plug into the connector under the seat. Did not disconnect the battery as I never turned the ignotion on during the swap.
Still got a airbag warning light when done.
Is the system only checking the airbag sensor or does it also check the occupancy sensor and seatbelt sensor throwing the same warning light or is it just that I did not disconnect the battery?
If I get a diagnostic tool, will it be possible to check and clear the warning light?
Can you code out these sensors digitally or do you have to fool the system with resistors.

Thanks a million for all input
Henrik

Used a diagnostic tool today and cleared the airbag light, the resistor in each seat seems to work as the airbag error code is gone. However I get another code now, passenger seat occupancy sensor fault. Ayone know if it is possible to add a resistor in that specific socket under the seat?
