Battery discharge problem

Post by Rw@@dy » Fri Sep 21, 2018 11:56 am

Over the past week my battery has gone flat. I called the Rac out as I was at work and did some checks to see what load was on the battery whilst the car was off.
A day before this happened, I’ve not been able to see or pair with the Bluetooth module for hands free. Also last night I could see my phone keep connect to the tune2air module I have in the ami (have a mk2 rnse).
The only fault Vag Com shows is in the instrument cluster, 01317.
I’ve no idea where to start with this!

How long after you locked the car was your phone connecting to the AMI?

Have you made any changes recently?

About 2 hours after locking it.

No that’s the odd bit, nothing has been changed recently

2 hours isn’t right. It’ll stay on for about 5 minutes then power everything down. I have tune2air in both my cars although the phone remains connected for a while after you lock the car, once the system shuts down you can’t connect to it.

Maybe disconnect the aMI and see how it goes for a couple of weeks. At least you’ll know where to start if it cures it.

I’ll try that. Any ideas on the fault code for the instrument cluster?

Sounds like a faulty blutooth module to me, keeping everything powered up. RNSE never goes to sleep, try disconnecting the module under the drivers footwell carpet.

Had exactly same problem, so frustrating. Hope that helps.

I was wondering if it’s that, did u disconnect it from under the seat or back of the unit?
