Hi anyone know any history on this sprint blue avant? I am going to look at it tomorrow. It’s at 137000 miles. I know it had a carbon clean around 8k ago and it’s had the clutch changed already. Should I be scared? It’s got new tyres and on coilovers with a miltek exhaust.

Why would you be scared mate? Looks ok to me and sounds like the common faults have been addressed.

Like the half leather inside too.

Its top money for a B7 with the miles but it does look in good condition

The top corners of the front bumper have been cracked off I guess it’s been dropped when it’s been removed at some point although it should be an easy repair for a body Shop. I think it’s strong money for the miles myself..

No worries. I bought mine at 130k now 139k and all common issues is sorted. New clutch, Oil cooler, brakes, new pcv valve and intake manifold seals last week, Carbon cleaned 5kmiles ago.
And still running well. Only what I need stage 2 remap. :)

Yeh but did you pay £15k for it Gary? I very much doubt it. You can buy a sub 100k for not much more

No im not because carbon clean was never done, breather pipe was broken, DRC had leak, paintwork was horrible. And I paid 12k
And I spent 5600k last year :) including bilstein suspension and milltek non res exhaust. Paint corrections. So I fixed the car. And next month I will put on sale. So if you still looking for message me. You check all my post issues in here. All issues gone. Only one left to get stage 2 map.

This is my one.

It had a few more issues than the seller disclosed, the DRC needs attention, a few of the suspension arms are worn (I've done the lower just need to do the upper) will need a set of tyres and a set of front discs and pads in the not so distant future too (I'd have thought I can wait till winter / next year to sort out) plus some more minor niggles like loose heatsheilds etc.

Price wise, I personally think if the one which has been linked doesn't need any money spending on it its not too bad, mine will likely owe me about £16k once I've addressed what needs doing to it. I'd like to think with the work done and its history it will be worth that much but who knows. I'm hoping to keep it for a long time so hopefully that will become an irrelevance.

In hindsight I wish I hadn't bought it and had shopped around a bit more / paid more for one without issues (I used to like buying something cheaper and fixing the bits myself but time is an issue for me now I've got a baby). Then again they are all over 10 years old now so I doubt there are any out there which genuinely don't want for anything.

Also wish I'd bought one with auto lights / wipers. I've been driving BMW's with them for the last 5 years so getting used to not having them is a pain!

I was watching the market for a while and did note that generally black and silver cars seemed to be cheaper, also the saloons seemed to be slightly less than the avants.

Can't see the link? I paid just shy of 15k almost a year ago now for an avant (is it a saloon your looking at which are generally cheaper?) with 114k miles . Had comprehensive history with all the usual faults having been addressed throughout the life of the vehicle. It's now done 122k and in the past year I've refurbed the wheels , had rear discs skimmed and new pads fitted, replaced lower front arms, replaced air conditioning sensor and just replaced drc system due to a metal pipe bursting. Probably spent just over 1k so far in a year's ownership which I think isn't too bad.

No unfortunately not. Matt who owns the car was swapping the water pump out on the day and was struggling to get it done. I got all the way to Cambridge from Banbury on the train and Matt said he was still struggling and could not guarantee it would be finished when I got there. I would have arrived at kings Lynn at 8pm and to get back to Banbury from there with late night train times would have taken 8hrs. So I got off at Cambridge north and went home. Still yet to experience what an rs4 feels like.
Interestingly there is another sprint blue avant on autotrader. The dealer has pictures off the history and there is a power curve from MRC from a couple of years ago... think it worked out to be 365bhp which is a fair way down..

I can't see the sprint blue one on AT you mention? If it's the one being sold by FFS then look carefully at the nsr 1/4 and pick, has had a terrible repair job. Paint is flat and swage line on the 1/4 to door doesn't match, also over spray on the door seal. I noticed it in the pics alone, so it'd look terrible in real life!

Yes I just had a look at the images of the one for sale on FS and agreed it’s had a poor paint job at some point.
