Avant tailgate struts

Post by maars » Mon Jul 16, 2018 12:37 pm

Mine has suddenly lost all ability to hold the tailgate open. Is this a common problem?

Are they are standard A4 part, and if so, where's the best place to get a replacement set?

I had the same problem (but only during cold weather) and replaced the struts with these:

Don't know why Audi didn't do this from factory.

Have they lasted long enough though?

I have had those for 2 years and they have worked great (even in Finnish winter). The tailgate is a bit heavier to close and you might have to code the remote button using VDCS.
