Easy "must do" mods

Post by jamiej » Thu May 31, 2018 12:40 pm

Hi all,

So far Audi RS4 (B7 Avant) ownership is proving to be a joy! :kissmyrings:

Nothing amiss so far, although the Long Life Variable Service interval has just popped up for a service in 340 day’s time, but it was only serviced about 4 weeks ago?!

I also need to find the source of an incredibly annoying squeak/creak from the rear seat, drivers side.

I have slowly been gathering information and general bits and bobs from this forum (and others) and have started to compile a list of small jobs I would like to do, which are not expensive and arguably (some) should have been done by Audi from the outset.

At the moment, my list looks as follows:-

LED Interior light upgrade – Trups looks to be the guy to speak to, I am discussing this with him.

RNS-E Upgrade to later version – Already done on mine, so unsure of costs; just need to find a more recent map DVD, preferably with 7 digit Post Codes… any ideas?

Audi R8 V8 Oil Filler Cap – Part No. 420 103 485B
(unnecessary but does look smart – not yet purchased)

Porsche Coolant Cap – Part No. ES221886S
(as above)

Triple Washer Jet Mod – Kit Part No. 4F0 098 101
(just ordered from 5 Oaks Audi - £42, seems more than it used to be, has to come from Germany too)

Q5 Rear Wiper Mod – Part Nos. 8R0 955 407 1P9 ; 8R0 955 425 ; 8K9 955 205
(this came from a US site so unsure if possible/done much over here). My rear wash jet doesn’t seem to be working so I may look into this mod soonish.

RS246.com Sticker – Obviously! – Done.

With an emphasis on small, cheap(ish), easy to do mods am I missing much? Presume a deeper search will unveil guides etc.

For reasons unbeknown to myself, I'm going to give it a year before I touch the "Zorst" .

Think that when the time is right, a resonator delete will be the likely option. Just need to find a decent Shop to do it at!

Have you properly cleaned and polished it yet ? Goes much better after a good clay and many layers of polish

i have done this and also suffered from the jet not working. It turned out the hose was split at the hinge. Audi sell the repair joints and message me if you want some of the hose as I ended up buying a very long piece of it ! Don't leave it as the water leaks into the motor and tailgate handle so had to replace those too...

Just bugger off the rear wiper with a killallwipers delete kit. Looks way better.
