Battery charging for simpleton

Hi all
Haven’t used the car for 2+ weeks. Got back off holiday and neighbour said they’d heard the alarm (Viper) going off in the garage but they saw no sign of attempted break in. After a few hours the alarm got weaker then went off.
Battery’s obviously flat so unlocked driver’s door with the key. I’d also left the bloody dashcam on which hadn’t helped
Can’t open the tailgate to get to the battery so need to charge it from under the bonnet. The +ve terminal is obviously under the red plastic cap. Is the -ve terminal the metal tube to the right about 6” long?

Hi,
Yep, thats correct. Just use that tube for -ve.
I've had no problems in the past doing it this way.

Thanks bud. I’ve lost the owner’s manual so wanted to make sure before I cause an electrical fire

you might also have to resync your key and the one shot windows once charged...
nothing too taxing...

What’s the one shot windows Mike; is it the closing function with the key?

its the function on the switches inside that drop the window with one touch rather than having to hold the switch down.
the closing function with the key should work as you have to hold the button down all the time anyway.

Ah, I’m with you now. Thanks.
Tried charging the car tonight but the alarm (Viper) kept pipping loudly all the time (like the ‘warn-away’ function when someone looks through the window), so I’ll have to talk to Antony at Securemycar.com for advice.

Might want to think about getting a battery tender when not using the car for extended periods of time. I don't daily mine so it's always on the tender.

Yeah, I’ve got a Ctek which I use all the time, but I didn’t have it connected when I went away. Oh well, lesson learned.....
