Help! How do you remove the oil filter from its cap?

Post by mikep99 » Sat May 05, 2018 11:18 am

Hi chaps,

Just doing an oil change.
I've removed the oil filter and cap but struggling to separate the filter from the cap.
Is there a technique to it?
I thought it should just slide out.
Cheers for any advice!
Mike

It's clipped in with those tangs . Look at the new one should give you an idea. Just give it a good pull and it will seperate.

Cheers Dhali - got there in the end with a bit of brute force.
Sure I'm getting weaker with age...
Anyway, all done now, about 8.5 litres out so happy with that. I'll give it a run out and check all is good.
Cheers
