Hi All
So I have been searching for a intake manifold for my Rs4 and came across the Billet aluminium linkage replacement for the plastic stock ones on the intake
Has anyone used or anyone know of anyone that has tried this mod and if they work?

Billet aluminium linkage pair for intake
Re: Billet aluminium linkage pair for intake
If you're referring to the Gruvenparts links then loads of A8/S8 owners have them. There are similar versions from Eastern Europe too.
BUT you need to remember that they can break because the manifold flaps are seized/faulty, if you fit metal ones that force the flaps you might cause more expensive damage!

Re: Billet aluminium linkage pair for intake
Hello
I've got the 034 Motorsports version (https://store.034motorsport.com/intake- ... l-fsi.html) - replaced them when the plastic ones had broken and caused the flaps not to close properly. They are wildly expensive for what they are, but then they can get away with it since the only other way to replace the link is a new manifold (or so I am led to believe...). Cured the problem, and they won't break again, so i'm happy enough.
I think that Awesome Gti (www.awesomegti.com) stock 034 stuff in the UK now, so might be easier than importing from the US.
Cheers,
Chris

I replaced mine recently. See my build thread. Agreed with comments above they are overpriced (because they can), but they are high quality.

Hi sorry for delayed reply. Had issues with allowing me to login for some reason.
Personally wouldn't recommend deflapping unless going for a stage 2 Remap. There aren't any benefits to be had to be honest. Also make sure they keep the port dividers in the head as mine is much more spritely with them in vs without.
Also they must loktite the screws that hold the flaps onto the spindle. A guy on here had the unlucky event of a screw coming off and wrecking the valves and a cylinder which ultimately killed the whole block.
