Wow, a proper track build then!! Looks awesome so far, look forward to seeing it progress. Is Shaun at SW Motorsport doing the cage work? Noticed an SW logo on the seat.

Nice work. Is this still the same car you were building ages ago? Wasn't it Young Ben's car after it had a a crash? Did it ever make it onto the track or is this still the same car being prepared?

Surely you will struggle to get to 1100 - my V6 lotus is about that weight and that is much smaller and made of plastic!

I highly doubt 1100 is achievable tho... drivetrain and engine is around 700kg. So that’s 400 for the rest give or take..
Correct, shooting for 1400 would already be a fairly strong goal. 1100 not going to happen ever, not even when you fill the car with helium balloons. That tubing for the cage isn't weightless either. A bit odd to have such an impossible figure in mind.

Because the engine is pretty much a fixed weight and all out in front, you'll also be making the already poor weight distribution a bit worse when stripping the rest of the car. It'll still handle great compared to a heavier car obviously.

It is an odd starting point for a track car but still cool...

i have always thought they were not very track oriented myself tbh
a tin can evo needs work to be at 1100kg with a full cage so a quality barge like an rs4 b7....no chance :boohoo:
be a nice brief though and still pretty much fun
