Hi all,

I am currently in the market for a used RS4 B7 Anant. My budget is around 20K€ which I hope will get me a car with 150-200K km in a decent condition.

Recently, I came across a dealer who would be willing to sell a MY2007 car with just over 200K km for as little as 11500€, inclusive a 3-month warranty and a 2-year MOT.
However, the service history for the car seems rather sparse:
8K km - oil change
34K km - oil change, brake fluid change, air filter change
65K km - oil change, brake fluid change, air filter change
94K km - oil change, spark plug change, air filter change
125K km - oil change, brake fluid change, air filter change
150K km - oil change, air filter change
182K km - oil change, spark plug change, air filter change

If I were to buy this car, I would expect to immediately invest additional 3-4K€ into changing all the filters, fluids, spark plugs, brake discs+pads and performing a carbon clean of the engine .

I have no experience in owning an RS4 so I'd like to ask some of the owners: are there any other major service milestones (e.g. timing chain, hydraulic pumps, clutch, DRC suspension) that the car above has missed and thus should produce a hefty service bill in the near future?

Looks like it was on the long life service schedule, so oil changes look as per audi recommendations

Timing chain shouldn't be an issue, not like the S4 engine. How much meat is on the brakes at the moment, and don't forget tyres, they may be low as well

I would be surprised if it still has DRC, although if the car is located in a warmer and drier country than UK then the pipes won't corrode the same speed.

why do a carbon clean assuming the car is functioning correctly-it will dirty up again just as quick-all rs4 however well maintained are likely to throw up a hefty bill now and again...as above-drc,clutch? brakes..tyres are not cheap either

not a service item but one that will need replacing if not already done is the oil cooler & pipes.

Clutch. Do the carbon clean if it hasn't been done - the car is noticeably diminished by needing it done. Sure, it'll need doing again, but you should get at least another 30-50k miles before it needs doing. Not to have it done is like saying 'don't bother bathing, you'll only need another one tomorrow.'

Will definitely factor in a potential expense of 3-4K€ for changing the clutch and oil cooler/pipes in the near future.
I reckon that this car is still worthy of a shot since local alternatives with asking price up to 16K€ don't have that much better of service histories.

Based on this thread (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=70803) I guess it's safe to assume that if DRC was to fail then it would have happened way before 125K miles, right?
It's still strange that there is no record of any suspension work in the service handbook. The dealer barely speaks any English (is Italian) so I couldn't get any info out of them over the phone.
I guess I'll find out during the test drive in the coming days.

my last rs4 was on its drc at just turning 100kmiles[it had a few drc repairs in its life]
the one i have now has been on coilovers scince around 90kmiles
like everything i think it varies a lot-folk used to repair them now they seem to throw on a set of coilovers at first drc issue as its more cost effective
