Audi body warranty

Whilst fitting my ceramics I noticed some bubbling on the front wheel arches. About an inch long on the rear part of the front arches both sides.

I contacted Audi under the body 12 year warranty and with absolutely no effort at all they are doing the work. The type of corrosion I have (no idea what that means) is not covered by the warranty but they have agreed to fund 70% of the bill.

They are replacing both from wings and inner arch liners, both the upper and lower front door trims and the side skirts, painting the front wings and blending through the front doors.

Result I reckon?

That is good! Which dealer?

A lot of the Mk5 golfs get corrosion on the wing, but owners seem to have a fight with the dealers to get fixed.

Didn’t think theses would corrode due to been aluminium...
But yes seems a great deal

Camberley Audi. I’d expect it of a golf or anything with steel wings. But the RS has aluminium wings.

A lot of Mercs and BMWs get it too. Looks more like a reaction that corrosion .

How did you approach the subject, did you visit the dealer for them to asses?

Emailed Audi UK, they asked me to go to my local dealer. I called them, they had it in for a look. Simple

Well done Jon.
I got a 70% discount when I had corrosion on my rear NS roof rail, whole roof and all struts sprayed. Listers did a fantastic job.

That's great, I didn't think the skirts/trims would be covered so that's a bonus, might try my luck as my lower trims need doing.

How much service historey does the car have from Audi, just wondering if they have seen the car has been into them loads and are hoping to keep your custom, wonder if they be so generous if a car hadn't been to a main dealer for 5 years

Mine has a bit on the bonnet edge near the lights wonder if they will do that on a 06 plate..

Nothing to do with service history. I think they just liked the car and wanted to help. They won’t cover lower trims. I know that for a fact, tried before.

By coincicence I have just today taken mine in with a similar issue - although only one wing. I tried last Saturday but seems to be Monday - Friday for paint warrnaty claims...

They measured the paint thickness in several places on both wings, took some photos and are sending to Audi said I should hear next week.

Car has been Audi serviced all its life so I am hoping for similar result - especially as they refused to help with the door trim a few years ago.
