Re: Tyre choices
I changed from 255-width PZeros to 275-width MPS4S a few months back and they've been incredible wet and dry so far.
Re: Tyre choices
You use wider wheels, I assume? Does the increased width catch in the arches on full lock?

275 / 30 / 19 fit on the B7
Re: Tyre choices
I think a few people have run them on the stock wheels, both on the B7 and C5 platforms. Technically I think you’d be better off going an extra half inch wide wheel, but don’t quote me. Lots of info on here for 275 tyres though, and mixed views on whether it’s benefical or not.
Re: Tyre choices
I had a quick look at this last night and 275/30 seems a bit wide for a 9 inch rim so surely the middle ground would be a 265/35? 255/35 circumference is 81.77 inches and a 263/35 is 82.63 inches, 1.1% difference. The 275/30 circumference is -2% compared to the 255/35.

Re: Tyre choices
Stock wheels at present, I have 19x10 on the way. No scrubbing on full lock. I get a little scuff on big compressions on passenger side front which I think is the arch liner retaining clip - this simply unscrews and isn’t really needed.
Re: Tyre choices
I've got Michelin PS4 and found them to be an outstanding all rounder. Great grip in wet and dry and a nice ride. Perhaps ill go MPSS next time....
Re: Tyre choices
PS4 or PS4S? If the former, I’d go with the latter next time as they are supppsed to be SS plus some.

Re: Tyre choices
I've gone from PSS to PS4. Can't honestly notice much difference.

Re: Tyre choices
Interesting that the thing I thought less good about the PS4S was that the ride was worse than the Goodyears. Fitters had told me that they had been careful with tyre pressures and made sure they'd gone by the book. Turned out that after a week or so when I checked the tyre pressures, they had fitted fronts to rear and vice versa. When adjusted, ride is much better....
