You have to buy an AMI unit for the OEM stereo - then you can plug in an iPhone lead.

I think I might get that Dension BT thing as it seems fairly simple and will do what I want while keeping the standard head unit.

Have you got the audi ami on your glove box? If so buy a Tune2air to plug in - instant excellent quality blietooth

Avoid kuatec fiscon for music - good for calls awful and unlistenable for music (ive got both)

Just had a poke around and there's nothing in the glove box except the CD changer so I'm assuming I don't have it.

On a side note, I just got the oil filler and coolant caps off an R8, they look quite nice on the RS4!

If you want to be really anal then you need the power steering cap too. Except this needs to be modified as it will not fit straight out of the box.

Think it was from an R8. Details of how I nodded it are in my RS4 build thread but probably without the photos now thanks to photobucket. Essentially I cut the top off the standard one and cut the bottom off this one and stuck the 2 together.
