I changed mine just recently - easy swap over you will need to re-sync the remotes and wind the windows up & dowm so they learn again.

I went for the Duracell one, had the best warranty and the price was pretty good too, helps that I picked a day when they were doing money off. Came in around £120 with delivery

It should be as simple as put the key in the ignition, turn to the accesory position (ie light up the dash but don't start the car) and then press the button on the remote, switch the ignition off & test.

That is what I just did with all my keys - I think locking & unlocking the drivers door and pressing the button may also work but ignition key is easy enough.

You can also sync using VCDS but that worked perfectly for me.
