Little or no use rs4

Post by Rs4. » Wed Jan 24, 2018 2:03 pm

Guess I am not alone ?
Have been thinking no point in owning the car

Purely down to 5/ 6 six days a week in another motor
& we have other cars in house so always a car to drive
I know I would regret selling but been thinking it arghhh!
Anyone else similar situations ???

Yes me too, barely get time to drive it but really don’t want to let it go... especially having put another £7k into it recently!

I drive mine once a week on average, commute to work via train. Love having it on the weekend, couldn't do with a slow car!

Everyone has different circumstances though. If you can't jsutify the outlay then move it on and let someone else love it. :thumb:

dont use mine very much..had dearer, faster cars etc but i enjoy every shot i have out in it-ticks the boxes for me tbh
i feel i spent longer working on it last year bringing it up to standard after buying it than i have driving it

hopefully more miles this year-i dont like using it on the salted roads tbh as it isnt kind to cars and its pretty decent underneath for 10 -11yrs old-my previous rs4 wasnt great underneath for an audi

I haven't driven mine since August. But it's getting serviced as I'm taking the family skiing in Feb half term to the French Alps. This is what this car was build for, versatility. I can't wait. I'll try and not get banned by the French plod this year :drink:

I do miss mine, but change of job and recent wedding meant that it was pointless having a 5 series for commuting and the RS4 for weekend fun as it was getting driven less and less.

I bought a compromise car in July - S3 S-tronic with decent spec and got Evolve to map it for me. It's a pretty good car and is great for driving up and down the motorway, plus I'm happy to leave it in airport/train station car parks once a week. But it doesn't thrill me like the B7 did and although it ticks the boxes in what I was looking for, I'm already planning on moving it on. Problem is that a 4.2 isn't ideal for the driving I do. Thinking F-type V6S, M2 or RS3 in the Spring, but I still look at B8 RS4s and try to justify them with my man maths!

In short, if you can keep it do!

80k over 11 years and only adding 5k p.a. I've had nightmares where I've sold the car and woken in a state of considerable distress. I'm hoping til death do us part. It's coming first not mine, naturally.

I've had mine since June 2006, have done 105k miles, and have no intention of selling :) ... even though the DRC has just let go this week...!

had to laugh at the nightmares, 12th - I thought I was the only one.

Eek. I hope the DRC isn't too expensive or difficult a fix.

Yep, I reckon I've had that dream five or six times. Always feels like it takes half an hour to regain my equilibrium...

fingers crossed on DRC, but not very hopeful tbh. full on golf ball rattle from osr, so at least two dampers needed, which really means four of course.

looking at coilovers blah blah! almost too much information and too many opinions around :)

Totally agree and this is what made me finally buy one . Done 4k miles in 5 months and that's trying not to use it but it is so addictive! Personally if I was doing a couple thousand miles or less a year in it then I would find it hard to justify to keep. It's there to he used!
