High pressure fuel pump issue

Post by Gary(rs4)87 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:36 am

Hi guys,

Engine management light on because of high pressure fuel pump.
Anybody have a spare one? Or better to order new one? Enough for one side or better replacing both side?

I replaced one side because of a small leak and it still runs fine. Don't see why both sides would need replacing.

Had one replaced last year, and wondered about the other. No problems since. No warning light, but the car had massive flat spots and interruptions to power from the mid range up - it felt horrible to drive. You'll know if and when you need the work...

Not feel any difference now, but if coming back than I will order one.
When I went home few days ago just lost the power and huge smoke from the driver side exhaust and then engine management light come off, then the garage told me. The bank 2 high pressure fuel pump issue, and caused missfire 5 and 8 cylinder
But now its ok again

Hmm. I'm not sure that I'd expect a fuel pump to have that sort of problem and then fix itself, so maybe it was something else? And if it ain't broken...
