Have had some interest from someone wanting to buy my B7 RS4 even though wasn't looking to sell; not just now anyway.

The question is what would you buy for same money ( around £20k). I prefer four wheel drive and do like the big engine saloons.

Has anyone else sold their RS4 and bought something else recently? Looking for any recommendations.

Was considering another RS model Audi for the Quattro and have driven 2011 RS3 but not sure if I could live with it or not. Drove 2003 RS6 saloon many years ago and did like that but haven't driven any other of the newer models.

Any recommendations?

Keep the rs4 there is simply nothing out there comparable for the money and I think they will hold their value and possibly increase in value over the next 10 years for nice, standard non modified examples.

I do agree with you just not sure how much the price will rise though. Low mileage well maintained examples holding good price just now. Seen recently how the market for E46 M3 and E39 M5 have went and expect the RS4 to go that way as well. Downside to that is you don't drive the car as much to keep the miles down on it which I have started doing.

Nothing to compare really, why go for something else that will always be second best? The only thing that springs to mind is a Subaru, otherwise you'll have to compromise somewhere, most likely on the 4wd

I’ve always fancied an S8..

S8...? well if auto gearbox comes into play then that's a whole different game

e46m3 too old rusty and lots of issues-headgaskets,vanos,rear boot floor,bottom end shells[even worse on e9x m3!] not to mention smg probs
e39 m5 better car than m3 but rusty now,vanos,some bottom end issues ...

not much comes close to the rs4 for the dollar-i had a saloon rs4 last year went back to m3 e46[had a few few the years]-what a mistake,am now happily back in what i should have bought-rs4 avant
not much else floats my boat like the big rs4 v8 tbh

The only cars I'd want to sell my RS4 for cost at least double

What about a C6 RS6? Big engine saloon for probably similar money.

MK2 Focus RS.

Had one for 2 years. Great car. Similar performance to the RS4 with a remap. Hold their money just like the RS4 too. Not quite up to the build quality of the RS4 though.

If someone was selling a McLaren P1 for £20K I would snap it up, otherwise nothing.

The chap I bought my charged B7 from bought a new P1!

bit of a hooligan image compared to the rs4 too
has to be said they hold value well-probably more so with the engine failures on new rs focus

Yep I agree on all points. Loved mine - almost 400bhp so really shifted and was very reliable in the time I had it. Big flames and bangs on gear change. Don't care what anyone says though traction is an issue. Interior rattles like a bag of bolts too .

C63 amg is a thought
