Ceramics - front and rear?

Post by andyg72 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 8:00 pm

Minimum is 37.5mm stated on mine there are also 3 wear indicators on disc face

The wear indicators are there from new they are made up of a different ceramic compound so wear faster from what I read and or change in appearance

Here are mine to compare as said as long as the disc face is smooth and no chips on the disc at all they should be ok
From the pics posted they do look ok to me
Pads are not that costly I replaced mine my self genuine Audi were £370
Very easy to do
Those bells look super clean, do you mind if I ask the mileage of those rotors, and if you have cleaned the bells up a bit?

Brilliant, not long got home. Been a long day. Left at 6.45 for reading. Killed the day in Maidenhead. The swap was finished at 3, so I went back and got car. Wow! What a difference. I think I had a pretty good setup anyway, but the ceramics are something else. So much more bite! I love them. Well worth the money and the trip to get them sorted.
Only saw the brakes in flesh this morning when doner car turned up, they are in really good condition. Snapped a quick pic before it got too dark, think it's attached

Need to get them coded into car too.
And have developed an annoying knock when braking. Grrrrr

Possibly.
So if I brake, there's one knock, then it's gone. Speed up, brake and it knocks etc.
Brakes nice and straight, can't feel anything through steering.
Suspension is all brand new.
Plus no knock on way up this morn

Job to say, need a proper look in daylight. Plus I don't keep car at home with me.
Worth chucking a set of pads on if looking half worn. Knocks bug the hell out of me
