New Exhaust

Hi all,

I’m also looking to update my exhaust, and so far I’m leaning towards a Milltek Resonated system with valves.

I briefly considered deleting the center res on the standard exhaust, as cost wise it makes much more sense, but I rejected it due to the cutting and welding necessary. I know it’s not a major thing, but I didn’t want to have the extra welds should I wanted to convert back to stock (small OCD from my part…), so I’m definitely looking for a 100% bolt on solution.

I’m looking for something that will only slightly increase the volume (hence the resonated solution), and enhance the v8 sound. Stock R8 v8 sound and volume is my ideal result.

I suppose that there won’t be a need for any coding for the valves to work properly with the “S” button, right?

Finally, I would really appreciate any feedback from people that have the Milltek installed on their cars.

The centre res delete can be done with exhaust sleeves, that would make it possible to swap back to the original very easily, just a thought.

Although it has to be said the centre resonator is welded in anyway. If you get an exhaust Shop to cut it out and you want to add it back in later, it shouldn't be difficult to do. Just ask them to cut the existing welds so you can't tell it's been done, should you want to revert back.

I would 100% recommend the centre resonator delete. They can be reinstalled should it be required and it means you won't need to store a whole spare exhaust somewhere. I've tried a few variations of the delete so far and my preferred solution are straight pipes over X and H.

i wouldnt be worried about what you do to the standard exhaust-there is absolutely zero percieved value in them-would be very easy to replace with another-only problem being transportation as its a big lump ...

Have had the rear resonator removed from my standard exhaust yesterday. What a great result to say I was looking at £1800+ fitting for a new one!! Noise levels are good on both S and normal mode, nice and throaty in S bit still really drivable on M, Dual and A roads.
Not many good changes you can do to anything for £100 these days.....
