Max speed

Post by Covkiller » Fri Jul 21, 2017 9:50 pm

Has anyone maxed their RS4 B7, I mean on the clock and not GPS and what did you manage to achieve
I get 193mph on the clock, I managed this again today legally on my way back from Berlin on the A4 Autobahn.
Rules; this is an honest question out of interest and not who's go the biggest No8.

I was always under the impression that most manufacturers made clocks show 10% higher than true road speed, in which case 193 would be bang on the money.
Happy to be wrong on this regarding our cars :o

I thought top speed on the B7 was restricted by gearing rather than power so supercharged will have same top speed, but get there faster.

Most defo it's the gearing but with out the power, you'll run out or real estate before you can top it..

The V8 R8 is factory derestricted and has an official top speed of 186mph, and has a far kinder aerodynamic, so I do struggle with how the B7 can do more?

Here's a photograph from a couple of years ago. Not fully maxed out but it's hard taking a picture at this speed, I managed to push it to 193. It does take a while to build it up past 180 onwards. I believe Jules managed 193 in his supercharged RS4.

Hey Eddie indeed.

Here's another actual speed, but not maxed out. Look at the bottom left of the picture.

Don't forget any cars that have MRC remaps will have a greater red line limit therefore that will increase the top speed over the factory cars.
