tempting though it may be to skuff and paint etc -probably not a good idea while under warranty ...but yes they sure need it

Re: Fitting coilovers, drop links and lower arms
I have them (kw v3) on my B5 RS4 and one of my front ones failed after less then 2k miles .Spoke to KW offering to provide documented evidence to support mileage but they were not interested. Cost me £450 to have the two front struts ( they only do in pairs ) serviced . I personally will not be buying them for the b7 . However the finish on them is very good .arthur.d wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 12:12 pmthe b14 are ok-ride wise and handling/damping finish on them [fronts]after about 8 months [very limited winter use] is absolutely awful tbhjordanbutters wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 9:30 pmYou won’t regret the move to KWs. I have the Variant 3 on my Avant and they’re amazing - Ride is really nice and resolves undulations and bumps well.
i read that the kw units keep their finish better and also work well, but again there is a user on here or f/b who is looking for a replacement as his damper has failed, although i dont know how old the unit is...seems you cant win whatever you buy sadly
