KW V3 Coilovers...

Post by RS6MAN » Sun Jul 16, 2017 5:37 pm

Guys

Quick question. My drc is fine at the moment as inspecred by MRC.
But what would you guys suggest is best coilover kit for the rs4. Been told by doug that the KW v3 is closest to DRC you can get.
Whos using the Kw v3s and whats your thoughts?

I had it on my old rs4. When I test drove my new one with Drc I felt a big difference. Which is why the v3's are going on mine ASAP

My DRC was also leaking... but on V3s the car drives amazing, would highly recommend them.

Those with V3's, how do you feel the difference in comfort between DRC and V3's?

Hi guys,
I just bought my RS4 and found out that the coilovers ride too low. The previous owner put cheap KW coilovers not the V3s and now I am considering replacing them with the KW V3 or Blistein B16 PSS9 Coilover Suspension Kit. The problem is I can't find info on the maximum height adjustment of either. Does anyone know whether I can adjust these so they ride normally without my tyres rubbing all the time. I want to enjoy my car but can even throw it around corners without hearing this rubbing within the wheel arches.
Cheers and thanks in advance

Bilstein b16’s will near enough sit at stock ride hight

Although mine was set lowest on the rear and front to match rears hight & no rubbing could be heard

I think the rubbbing starts once spacers are fitted

Or, go DRC and KW adjustable springs. Best of both worlds.

That’s what I did maars. Honestly wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re intent on keeping DRC even after a failure. These cars are getting old and DRC will go soon enough.

Spent nearly $1600 (AUD) buying and fitting the KW HAS and a year later I’m buying KW V3s because my DRC is gone.

b16/14 at highest height is still far lower than stock-its how i ran mine, however i ran 275/30/19 on std alloys with no rubbing[no spacers either]
i had slight rubbing on front when i fitted 20" rs5 rotors et26 with 265/30 for the month or so i had them fitted
no point in the b16 over the b14 unless you do track days and want to fiddle with the damping
