CC is 850, map is 650 which is 1500 then there is labor to remove the flaps from you manifold. Sounds right to me. Rw@@dy didn't have the map which is why his was cheaper.

If you want the cheapest option then I have a manifold that I have just taken off which you can have for cheap then just get them or any other reputable indie to swap it over. This would keep you on the road for around 300-350 I reckon.

Ok that makes sense, So really there would be no need to get the remap then? Wonder why MRC advised for it to be done then...

Right Ok......So basically best to do what MRC are saying or either replace my manifold with another if I can source one that is if I dont wish to go down the MRC route of remapping etc.

I am evaluating my options before I make any rash decisions.

Why not get yours stripped out and then remapped

What is the cost of getting them stripped out and remapped? Obviously remap is £650

I will speak to my mechanics tomorrow and see if they recommend buying a 2nd hand inlet manifold As that can be a cheap option.

When unit20 did mine, they said it was getting harder to get the spare parts to rebuild the flaps.
I believe the most time consuming part is removing the manifold, once off there are a few guides on here about removing the flaps

Awesome Gti do the modified flaps for these and bring them in from the states circa £210. I think thats very reasonable but they wont get them till the 2nd week of June so may try and source a 2nd hand manifold that isnt worn out or either wait till 2nd week of June.

So just remove the flap? Is there no remapping involved? and if I just do this will the EPC light stay on?

OEM intake manifold is £2200 so the MRC route is cheaper which includes carbon clean, remap and im not sure what the other thing was maybe a manifold?

Ideally id like to save as much as I can, but dont want to cut corners to cause future problems.
No I removed mine but left the sensor/motor in place just remove the flaps no need to get remapped then car still thinks flaps are there so no fault will be recorded
