Crackle map

I saw someone had posted a question on fb about this and thought I'd ask to see if MRC or anyone could do this. I'd never heard of it but just did some research online and can't find anyone that's done this on an rs4 so guessing the answer is a no. It would be nice to get more pops, crackles and bangs.

They do a flat shift/launch control map if that's what you mean?

Each to their own but why do you want it to pop and fart like its miss firing?

No it's not, it basically just tells the ecu to pump excess fuel after the cylinder has fired which ignites causing crackles. This is my understanding anyway.

That sounds a bit extreme, not sure I want it to sound like its miss firing. It would be good to have something similar to the bangs the 5 cylinder Rs models let off.

My stage 2 B7 made pops and crackles on overrun / downshifts. It has 100 cell sports cats and a non res cat back. I would expect cars with gutted pre cats or decats do so much the same. That was plenty for me and sounded awesome.

My 45 AMG has a non res exhaust and is a bit too much with very loud bangs on upshift and a lot of pops and crackles on overrun / downshifts.

That's perfect! The car is booked in on the 13th. Stage 2 with Flat Shift, Launch Control & Crackle, Carbon Clean and P & P Manifold. Then off for a 10 day road trip to Austria, should be able to blow some snow off those mountains after all that!! Will also be running back box bypass valves so essentially straight pipes at the touch of a button... Damn I'm excited!! :kissmyrings:

Jon a few mk1 rs3 guys have had this done to match the mk2 rs3s. However most of them have complained about how annoying it can get after a while. With the mk2 rs3 and the C7 you can turn it off by using the gearbox in D mode but even still some of them moan about it getting boring after a while.

I'll have a chat to the guys at MRC and get their thoughts, that's if they can do it. My car really doesn't get much use except for the occasional day trip with the Mrs every few weeks and hopefully some shows once I get it back. It's not a daily so a few bangs adds to the excitement of being back in it but it's something to think about none the less. Cheers.
