Arm rest was on optional extra. I was going to retrofit one but most of the guys on here moaned they had t olift it up everytime they needed to use the handbrake so I didn't bother.

Be grateful you don't have an arm rest. It's an RS4 not a Granada!
I spent months looking for a centre console without an armrest fitted for me S4. Hateful things!

I did spend a tremendous amount of time on the arm rest. Even if it did ruin a 450euro jacket i still couldnt live without it.

The armrest in mine has never been in the down position in 6 years of ownership!

The arm rest is purely there for long motorway drives, i use mine for that and its comfy, and I'm glad i have it, but if you need to go up and down the box then its imposable.

Cooler is great on long journeys. Used mine loads in LeMans as well as the arm rest. It does get in the way of changing gear... but so does traffic... 😂

I find the cooler handy to just stuff a bunch of crap into that would otherwise be clogging up the glove box itself. Stuff like an OBD cable, touch up paint, zip ties and whatnot.

The arm rest is the worst engineered bit on the car, pretty much, but I do like having it on longer trips.
