Don't suppose you could share any parts and part numbers from TPS/Audi could you of the little fiddly stuff from Audi/TPS please?

I'll start the list of everything req:

LUK DMF077
http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 342&jpid=0
MMAIL6 knocks 5% off

LUK Clutch Kit
http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/search/641442580
SPRING10 knocks 10% off

Robnic Modified Hose
PM him, ever so helpful and decent part
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=34106

I'll have to go through my receipts for the clutch hose/slave seals and manifold nuts/studs.

I just paid about £1200 all in for mine, that was....
Luk clutch (euros), luk flywheel (rock usa), sachs slave (euros), robnic pipe, robnic also sold me all the levers and bolts etc (all from audi/tps), millers gearbox oil/ diff oil (ebay) , also crank sensor broke during job and my mate fitted it all for £230 it would have been less but 4 out of 6 exhaust manifold bolts snapped and had to be drilled out and replaced (added an hour or two).parts came in about a grand. It pays to Shop about and use discoumt codes etc.
That said the flywheel in the uk is always around the £800 mark alone (same part as from usa)
You need to factor the fw into the job, everyone told me not to bother but i saw it myself when it came out and was scrap metal , the famous sticky pedal ate my clutch and fw quite quickly.
so if that price of £1500-£2000 youve been quoted is for all the work and all the bits you need to change then its not really that bad a price, as you said its the labour cost that hikes it up quite dramatically. The parts themselves are quite reasonable (if you Shop about) considering the usual RS tax we pay on parts

Ok cheers, the clutch works out cheaper (today at least) on CP4L even though it's the same company as ECP

The issue I have is all of them have tried it on with the flywheel. Why on earth do they all say an OE flywheel is over £800-£1000 when an LUK one is half the price?
You can't get the LUK in Europe, wouldn't blame them for that. They have better things to do than source things on the other side of the pond I imagine...

If I were you I would consider using the single mass flywheel offered on Ebay (billet flywheel made in the UK) that is both cheaper and lighter. Works with OEM standard clutch.

I rather like mine, there is some chatter in gear at very low revs (near idle) which is not particularly dramatic and easily avoided if you don't lug the engine.

edit: http://ttvracing.com/product/audi-rs4-4-2-v8-b7-06-08/ (about 350 quid I believe I paid)

C5 RS6 Avant Daytona/Cognac - gone.

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendations, as some of you know I run a Bosch Car Service garage in Lincolnshire between Scunthorpe & Doncaster, I have done work, sold parts - including our modified clutch pipe, even sold a car to RS246 members, we charge £49.50 / Hr + vat, the clutch job and associated components takes around 6.5 to 7 hours to do, normally the exhaust manifold studs - unless they have been changed previously, can be severly corroded so you can add between one to two hours to remove and fit new (we use an inductive heater so no naked flame under the car!)

Same as carbon cleaning we walnut shell blast with the total job coming in around 6 hours with pair new manifold gaskets and a couple of seals so not too bad really.

The garage website is here as with most not fully up to date but you get the jist; www.nicholsonmotors.co.uk

As far as fitting customer supplied parts there is a national push to stop this (a lot haven't done this for some time) it is being driven by our insurers as our liability insurance does not stand if we have no 'paper trail' for parts purchased, obviously we can supply all the parts genuine and / or OE equivalent. That being said for a fellow RS owner if you rock up (pun intended) with a Rockauto DMF I would fit it whilst doing the job although this would have been discussed before the job was booked in.

I was under the impression that Audi had a fixed price of £995 for a new clutch?
Aren't RS models usually excluded from the fixed price arrangements?

I have a feeling my clutch will need doing soon too..

Called Audi...£1000 for a clutch including fitting...due to the age of the car..and £1000 for a flywheel (part only) fitting is included for free.

So has anybody successfully fitted the metal slave cylinder thats available in the states, is it worth swapping out the master and slave cylinders while doing the job?
