Yes the 928 is essentially a bigger 925. There is a newer version that has FLAC compatibility, that's what I'd be looking for as a primary feature.

I just looked at it; that X801 has the 8" cap screen with FLAC support; that's where my money would be going! I've been waiting about 6 years for someone to bring out an aftermarket head unit with these features but it's too late for me now.

Is the alpine INE-928R (with fitting kit) a direct replacement for the factory head unit in a B7 ? As in, does all the factory bose stuff work with it or do you have to replace other bits as well ?

I would recommend the Alpine ILX 107 which is Wireless Apple Car play. Have it in mine and it is a great unit.

That looks really nice. I have an android phone though and at a glance its not compatible with that model. Do they do a fitting kit for the B7 ?

Ahh ok, yeah that one is Apple CarPlay only however there are wireless Android auto versions out their too.

Yeah they do, the tricky bit as with all head unit changes with the B7 is ensuring the Amp plays nice. I got mine done by a car audio place as I got a reverse camera and a USB port put in under the centre arm rest. This allows me to plug my phone in to charge it and also run Apple Car play through if needed, however I tend to only use this on longer drives as wireless Apple car play does drain the battery faster but not enough to worry about it on the shorter trips.

Hi chaps, and ladies,
Does anyone know of an after market head unit which retains the drivers display function? Would like to upgrade but reluctant to lose this.

Cheers
