cost of respray?

My car is in pretty good nick over all and in passing looks mint. I like to polish, stand back and admire her. Trouble is I've managed to dent and scratch the door yesterday so this will need paint, also there are a couple of lacquer issues and a small dodgy repair from a former owner. I normally try to avoid painting if possible if the cars paint is mostly original as thats how i like to buy them and its keeps the car honest.
The thing is, these issues are not in one place so it might be easier to do a total respray. Keeping the colour the same, phantom black, has anyone done this? cost?.....

Don't know , but it'll keep the cost down as you don't need the engine bay etc done , as keeping same colour .
I'd say not allott of change out of £1800 ???

I'd say more than that for a good job.

To rid a previous car of some annoying stone chips, I decided to repaint and for £1000 I had:

Bonnet
2x Front Wings
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper

All done by my local Audi dealer who have their own body Shop onsite. I then had it professionally detailed afterwards and my only gripe was that I didn't get it PPF'd after all that expenditure.

I have friends in the trade but just wanted an idea of what people have paid. I had a price of 2k in my head, that said i would be happy stripping and re fitting the car, as i don't see the point paying for that as I'm ok with that stuff. I did work in a bodyshop when i left school, 30 years ago. I could even do most of the prep but i know most painters won't allow that as it is the most crucial part of the job.

£2k sounds like a sensible budget.

Random thought - what about getting it wrapped instead?

I have considered a wrap but i think a full respray will be more sensible in the long run. Although a burnt orange RS4 would look nice :jump:

I've got a dent on the wing and a scuffed bumper i need repairing, going for a full front respray so it all matches, bumper, bonnet, wings and blended into doors and a-pillar etc. Also need a new lower door strip which i am supplying and they are going to paint for me. Got about five quotes ranging from £1500 - £2300. So id imagine you could double that for a full repair/respray.

There is a guy on audi-sport.net with an RS4 who runs his own Shop plus he did a YouTube video of the who process and quoted £3k for a in and out job.
