So I just stumbled across this post whilst using the search function:

It's based around storing a B7 for 5 years, it was posted in 2012.

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=99411&hilit=rs4+b7+servicing

It was a good read, looking back 5 years and seeing what people thought the value of cars, petrol etc would be.

There is a still a few of the guys on here who posted back then.

Well, here we are in 2017 and it's interesting to see how things panned out?

A few posters in there may live to eat their words. Hovering around 3k left on the road including B5 (UK).

Those that keep up to and beyond 2020 with sub-100k mileage, I'd stab at easy appreciation above £20k.

I look at the Impreza P1 I used to own. Sadly written off 2014 and received market rate at that time, circa £8k. Now try find one sub £10k. Heading towards 22B values. Granted only around 300 left of the road now.

More and more B7s will end up as garage queens, the casual owner will be long gone in a few years running from maintenance costs. Aberdeen Audi et al. are already scared of liability these present having backed out of a sale to myself a few years back. Let's face it, you can go much quicker for the money but a normally aspirated V8 with manual g/box in 5-10 years will be phenomenal.

Bloody hell I remember reading that thread. Doesn't seem like 5 years ago!

interesting ... some rights, some wrongs

but it still would have been a monumental waste to not have driven the car in 5 years !
