Matte Black Wrap

When I bought my Misano red way back in 2009, I actually wanted Sprint Blue. Blue is my thing you see but never seem to end up with blue motors. Misano grew on me and tbh I love it, but I've always been itching to change it. Having already spent £000,s on mods over the years, I didn't want to then swap out for SB and have toy,d with the idea of a wrap for a few years but never done it. I'd also had her up for sale twice but just couldn't do it. There not the fastest car on the road but there's just something about a properly tuned B7 as I'm sure you will agree.

So why have I not gone blue on the wrap? Well...I already have, but not on the RS. I have a GT4 which I thought best to protect the paintwork and was not keen on the Porsche Agate Grey, so it was treated to a Satin Matte Blue with Matte Silver details which looks amazing. All work courtesy of my mate Adi @ #deepshinedetail

Anyway...back to the RS. Matte Black? Well actually, Matte Black with Matte Gold and Black Gloss details. I just love the combination of black and gold. Gloss black ideally but gloss black wraps no matter how professionally done will always cause you stress as they will show the slightest marks or scuffs. I think my love of this colour combo started as a kid watching Senna throw his F1 JPS round the track. Looks so good.

So thought I would share the love and post some pics of the wrap as it unfolds.

More to follow

To do a proper job you should do the door shuts as well. Who wants to open the door and see all red, especially with such a contrast between the two colours. So it's off with the doors

Back end rebuilt and started on door shuts.

Still working on the door shuts. It's quite a fiddly job on these doors. Moving parts, i.e. Hinges will have to be left red. Pics to follow. All front end has gone back on including headlights but have now decided to send them in to Trups to work his magic. They will be fully upgraded and painted in a combo matte/gloss black.

My HRE's are now back and look amazing in the Matte Gold finish, all prepd ready to go back on with new Sensors

Some more door shut shots......

Slower progression today taking time on door shuts and the inner door sections. Wheels look so good ...

Headlights have been shipped of to http://www.emtuning.co.uk to be fully upgraded and painted in a matte/gloss black finish with a little matte gold detail. So now am at the stage of choosing the best look for the matte gold stripes.......some ideas here below.......welcome any comments

Doors now finished and what a great job. You would think they had been painted.

Bolted back on and in correct position, hanging exactly right......Imagephew

Managed to get the HRE's back on today and I'm really happy with how they look. Matching up well with the matte black

Next stage is deciding on the final extra touches in the look which is the stripes in matte gold with maybe some black gloss pin striping. Centre / off centre?.....can't decide yet.......

Can't wait to see this finished. I still love that photo of the well stanced matte black avant from years ago and thought about doing the same to mine. And that F1 JPS car is so iconic for my generation.

I do like they grey on your gt4 though.

Agreed on the JPS Lotus. The picture below just defines 'iconic' for me.

Door shuts should be done for a proper job. It doesn't cost that much more and with two contrasting colours like this is well worth it. So it's doors off!

Can you ask your mate how,the trims come off around the glass as mine are corroded and wouldn't mind wrapping mine in brushed steel or gloss black
