So just had a call and email from Mrc.
My cars ready to collect

Dropped it off last Saturday for a 20k service, carbon clean, deflap manifold, gut the precats and a Mrc map to over write the map that was unknown and already on car

Well happy with that.
Top guys, replaced oil cooler lines while there and fixed faulty parking sensor

Ill be interested to hear your thoughts after driving it, everyone talks about their maps transforming the car. I'm still to get the car up there as I can't decide on the extent of work to get completed. Let us know.

The biggest thing to get over is the mega Jekyll & Hyde behaviour of the Sport switch post-MRC map. We were so thrown by it that at first that we inquired about changing the behaviour back back to stock.

However, we got used to it and wouldn't change it now I reckon. Just wait, you'll see what I mean, assuming they haven't changed that behaviour since I had ours done for some reason.

Tell me more?

The MRC sport mode makes it feel like it has a turbo.

Nope, that would spoil the mystery. Trust me, you will be baffled by both normal and sport mode behaviour at first but it is fun :).

Poo, Mike had to spoil things.

I'm intrigued to hear what people think of the map once they've got over the initial shock - for the first couple of months it always put a silly grin on my face but three years down the line I've a slightly different opinion.

And one word of warning - try not to switch into sport mode at low speed and on partial throttle when the car is cold. The couple of times I've done it (when I suddenly remembered that the occasion warranted 'loud' mode after I'd started the car) it has been most unpleasant :-)

I'll update later tomorrow when home.
It will feel ridiculously quick, as it does every weekend when I get in it after a week in the caddy ;-)

Sorry Footers, I was surprised he didn't already know, it has been discussed a lot.

Had mine 3 or 4 years and still love it. But since disconnecting the exhaust valves I only use sport mode when hooning around as opposed to previously where it would always be in sport mode for extra noise.

I have to say, to me it isn't turbo-like, more a massive incresse in urgency/aggression if that makes sense? The dumbing down of non-Sport mode serves to accentuate this feeling imo. Certainly doesn't feel like a turbo delivery, but turbos come in all shapes, sizes and power delivery characteristics. Anyway, waffling.....
