Hi folks newbie on the forum!,

Had my RS4 for a good few months now had it decated and non resonated - to date the best car I've owned, had it in to my local to get a carbon clean done and it was shocking how bad it was.

Just ticked over 90k rolling road before and after

Before 348.6 BHP
After 384.2 BHP

And up a bit on torque - only thought was it's at 384 Bhp and should be 440bhp is this normal? as most threads are up to about 410bhp after a carbon clean, not 100% that it has been mapped mind you here's some pics

So none of them run 414bhp standard ?? Is that not a bit of a con ??

They do if they aren't covered with carbon. Problem is that they need cleaning again soon afterwards so never stay at 414 for long.

If you only have 384 after a carbon clean then most likely either you have a bit of a vac leak or it wasn't dyno'd properly (fans not big enough, bonnet closed, heat soak).
The starting figure also falls in line with this theory; 348 is not a normal figure for a car suffering from carbon, either there was another issue (such as vac) or badly dyno'd.

Forgive my ignorance but all the posts I've seen they say they only get 414 after a carbon clean and a remap ? Or have I missed something ?

Carbon clean and remap will get you about 420 to 425 ish bhp.

Quite happy with the power but I think a remap is on the cards

Just got mine back from carbon clean today. First time clean at 134.000km (83 263 miles).
Must say that was the best 1050euros spent ever!

..next week changing to sachs clutch and stertman stage 1 :) :)

A decent one will give you an accurate value of the power at the wheels. You may find the book figure is just the bare engine on an engine dyno with no ancillaries like aircon, waterpump and alternator to drive, these all sap appreciative power.

A rolling road is a tool for tuning and measuring if mod x made more or less power than mod y. Or getting a good number to brag with down the pub!
