Had my RS4 now for two weeks and covered 2k.....It's just too addictive.

2 weeks in and I'm having the following:

1. Roof motor has gone, or is about to. Sticks half way deployed and then sinks back down to closed. (Common apparently from reading up on here).
2. I've had the EPC light on three times now, engine sounds and appears to run fine each time. I've pulled over, kicked a stone and smoked a cigarette and then restarted the engine. EPC light removes itself. Having read for literally hours on here about this issue I thought I'd be best to get it into a professional.

Now, I made sure when I bought the car I had a substantial warranty. As I'm sure there are many others amongst us that have had their pants pulled down over the years with these I think I've got my self covered.

I'm going to call the warranty suppliers and see what they suggest. Fingers crossed!

Apart from reading HORROR stories of engine failures etc...I'm really impressed with this Forum. It's like using google for a sore throat and reading you have a week to live hahahaha

Have you plugged it in to see what fault codes are showing?

I haven't got VCDS (not sure if that's the right gadget) unfortunately

Where are you based,im sure someone would be willing to help out depending on location.

I had a similar problem to you a few weeks ago with roof motor going. Audi quoted around £400/500 for the part plus any diagnostic work on top which could mount up, so looking at megabucks!
However I found this guy http://www.vagpro.co.uk/ based in Leicester. He really helpful guy too diagnosed the fault straightaway and put in a reconditioned motor with 2 year guarantee i think, for £95 all in! About 1 hour's work so really happy with result saved me a fortune!
