What to get after a B7 RS4

I currently have a mint B7 RS4 Saloon I have had it for 4 years and is the best car I have ever had. BUT
My teenage kids are moaning about the lack of legroom (I have front buckets) so i need to replace the car, the B8 just doesn't have much more rear legroom.

Can you help me with what would be as much fun to drive, have good residuals and fit the kids in the back. Prefer used car so someone else takes the initial depreciation.

I have driven
Mercedes AMG E63 Saloon- not as much fun as the RS4 and rubbish seats.
Audi RS6 C7- loads of space, very fast but felt a bit detached from the driving experience
Porsche Cayenne Diesel- great build quality and loads of space but felt like a tractor.

Help....

James

Apart from residuals RS6 C7.

Or keep the B7 and get a people carrier.

Alfa Giulia QV? Not sure how they are on legroom or build quality, haven't seen one in the flesh, but they look awesome.

Where are you based? If in the UK, tried a Vauxhall VXR8 GTS? Ok, build quality is not quite at the level of "ze germans", and it's a bit out there styling wise, but it's bigger with good leg room, quicker than a B7, available in 6spd manual, and the handling and road feel is excellent (at least, the Australian versions are).

If its a car you love and that is the only reason to sell then how about changing the front seats? I have had the buckets, comfort seats and now the B8 RS4 seats and there is more legroom in the back with the B8 and comfort. Not massively but I remember with people in the back I had to always pull my seat forward with the buckets (me being 6'1) but with these I dont have to. I like the B8 seats. They look and feel the part and very comfortable. Just a thought if that is the main reason to sell...

I do love the car but after 4 years nice to have a change. Try new technology like bluetooth;)
Will take out an M5 for a drive.
i think the Alfa Romeo Giulia comes out in November?

The B8 is waaaay roomier in the back? One of my family has a B8 Avant quattro TDI, compared to my B6 S4, the difference in rear legroom was huge. And as mentioned above, if you go from a B7 with buckets to a B8 with Super Sports, the difference in legroom increases further!

I vote B8 S4 Avant with stage 1 MRC map!

I used to have a B8 A4 s-line. Rear legroom felt significantly better than my current B7 RS4, as per Ian's comments. Might've only been a couple of extra inches for space in reality, but makes a big difference.

OP - Have you tried sitting in the back of a B8 RS4 (with driver's seat in your driving position) and comparing to the B7? My knees touch the back of the driver's seat in the B7, but wouldn't in the B8.

Alternatively, you could tell your kids they can walk if they prefer!
