Rs4 B7 misfire

Post by Buller123 » Sat Sep 03, 2016 5:20 pm

Recently purchased a 2007 RS4 B7. Car is amazing and ran well on the test drives etc. Filled the car up with normal unleaded not concentrating and after quarter of a tank the car has started misfiring and hesitate in the low rev ranged until warmed up. The car has an APR stage 1 remap so guessing this requires a 98/99 octane fuel?Hoping it is just the fuel, possibly plugs. Coilpacks easy to do on these?

Run the petrol out and fill up with 99 Ron and see how it goes.
If it's still misfiring then it's most probably coil packs, easy enough to change.

Congrats on the new purchase!

Couple of things to keep in mind:

1. If it's had a remap then it will most likely need high octane fuel. Unless it was mapped specifically for 95RON (could be necessary due to lack of 98/99 locally).

2. Do you know if the car has had any work done on the inlet manifold? A fairly common modification is for people to have the tumble flaps removed from the inlet manifold. A side effect of this is that the car can stutter under acceleration until warm. I had this on my car when I bought it, and thought I had a misfire too.
