Bike rack
Re: Bike rack
Thule Proride mounts to aerobars which go straight onto the Avant roof rails with a foot kit.
Keeps the bikes out of the firing-line of road salt in the winter and allows you to access the boot with the bikes on the car.
You also don't have to worry about a light board.

Re: Bike rack
Roof is my preference, I use the Mont Blanc aero bars and their discovery racks, maybe not the best but they do the job. Can fit 4 bikes on the roof.
Had a boot mount rack from Thule, it was a flaff, you can't use the boot and have to remount it for the journey home.
Got a Thule tow bar rack for the wife's car, it's a flaff, can't use the boot.
Once the rack is on top of the car it's a 2 min job to get the bikes on and off and you're on your way.
Or if you've got an avant just slip it in the rear (Carefully)! Used to do it regularly if it was just me going out.
