Milltek swap?

Post by Starry » Wed Jul 27, 2016 9:42 pm

Im thinking of maybe doing a deal with my valved, resonated Milltek for a standard cat back and modding that.
I have the non res centre section as well so there is an option on the res or non res.
Im thinking of using the money to ditch the pre cat and the centre section.

Gutting the pre cats and removing the centre resonator should give a nice equivalent sound, but you will have to disconnect the exhaust valves to get the right sound. By doing this you will not be able to use the sports button on the steering wheel.

If you don't disconnect the valves you will get a tinny flap noise, which sounds like a knackered baffle. Something that the local plod informed me about. Not a nice sound.

Yes I have done this on the Milly already so that would be no problem.

Aren't the standard exhaust tips smaller.

How come you want to swap? Is the Milltek too loud / not loud enough?

No, the milltek sounds great, if i need it louder I've got the straight through middle section.
Its more to do with the fact i spent a bit more than i wanted buying the car there for not leaving much for stage one of modding.
If i could pull back a few quid without any real compromise on performance or sound then why not.
Ive got a mate that can work on the exhaust. Pre cat delete and middle section removed.
