Another brake disk thread...

I have been trawling the forum and website for a few days trying to work out what front and rear brake disks I should get.
Obviously the OEM ones are easy to get hold of and are around £1300 delivered.
I spoke to MRC and Brembo have released some replacement front disks at just under £600. They may have also released some rears but waiting to hear back.
VW Phaeton disks are around £400 for the front and I'd prob get them grooved (can get it done for free).
I can't find any alternatives for the OEM rear disks, not sure if the standard Phaeton disks would go on? If so I'd get those grooved to match the fronts.
I'd appreciate any thoughts or alternative solutions.
Thanks,
Doug.

AP Racing do a 2 piece setup for the B7 for £800 initially (2x rotor & 2x bell) and then £600 (2x rotor) when they need replacing.
AP Racing Website
RH Rotor = CP8080Z14SD - £300
LH Rotor = CP8080Z15SD - £300
RH/LH Bell = CP8080Z140 - £200 for the pair

Girodisc do 380mm fronts and standard sized rear rotors, both front and rear can be bought disc, or just as rotor with bolt kit when the rotors wear, so similar to AP in that you only buy the bells once

380mm fronts, come with the spacer for the caliper bracket -

Rears -

Price is probably completely non-competitive now that the pound has weakened as they are made in US&A

Thanks for the suggestions above, I see on the ECS website that Brembo are doing front and rears at a pretty good price $610 front, $647 rears and $200 for the shipping. I assume these are exactly the same as OEM without the Audi branding.

Don't forget to add 20% VAT to stuff from the US, just incase you get pinging by customs.

Despite my trawling I had missed that thread! Thanks for pointing it out. Just had a look and currently Euro are offering 20% off so thats £543.98, not too bad at all.
The cheapest I can find some yellow stuff pads is at EBC brakes's website and they're £177. From reading all the threads these seem to be the pad of choice? As well as having a wear sensor for slightly forgetful people such as myself....

Yellow stuff is a bit hit and miss. Been told to avoid them but had them on my other car with no problems. Maybe depends on the driving style

I've been out in the car tonight and had the horrible break wobble from the front as under very hard breaking I can feel it through the pedal and although my discs don't look to worn there is slight grooving on them and there not 100% smooth , so looked on eurocar parts and using promo code summersale there £504 . May as well do it along with the pads .

I've just bought new front discs for exactly the same reasons, just trying to decide on brake pads now

Great spot, looks like they have added another 5% to their sale!

Mine are being delivered today from that offer. Best stoke Audi could do was £636 for fronts, same for rears which I need as well. Noticed europarts do a pagid rear disc, anyone tried these?
