Going up in Value?

Am I wrong or are these beasts going up in price? I am toying with a change (I know, I know), We buy any crap.com are offering around £13k (115,000 miles Avant) but autotrader are £15k +, I am sure that they have been this price for ages now and last time we buy any crap offered me less than 12k about 6 months ago.

I bought this car over 3 years ago, put 55,000 miles on it and have only 'lost' 6k if I sell for 15k..... Thats not a bad is it? I had bought a 2.0l BMW for the same I bet it would be worth less than 10 now.

Do we think these have 'bottomed out' at these prices?

there's a few owners hoping so! (myself included) I was chatting to surrey_sam when I went down to collect a wheel from him and we agreed prices have plateaued however the gaps now between a "good" one and not so good one is opening up with well specced low mileage examples pushing towards mid to low 20's and the higher mileage lower specced ones fetching circa 15-16k.

Based on rising prices of performance classics of all brands id like to think they would hold firm, a while yet though before we see any size-able appreciation.

In Ireland the prices have risen.
I paid 21k for mine 3 years ago, they are going for 23/24 here now.

Happy days :)

Na

There's thousands of them.

And they are hardly a "classic" Audi.

Be just a glitch in the market.

Fight :bash:
Not so, the RS4 B7 is a rare car.

I never thought that my 3.0S Capri would be a classic and worth so much, £55k for Bodie's.
Keep your RS4 B7 long enough and it will 100% become a classic.

Last manual RS4 Estate. That's the style of car that put Audi's Quattro GmbH where it is today, starting with the RS2!

B5s are going up too!

My £0.02

I think prices have more or less flatlined over the past few years, but not risen to any great extent.

However - There are a few more ads popping up with people (mainly traders) trying to ask silly money for them. Don't know if they actually sell though.

Conversely, there are loads of dogs about - Cat D's that have been poorly repaired, or cars that just haven't been looked after.

All I can say is that whenever I come to sell - I think I'll be better off having put £2X,000 cash into the RS4 rather than into a newer car.

There were too many produced to go silly. However a well looked after example will become rare and command more money. The same is said for the c5 rs6 that I have. Looked after and all will be good

I'd agree, I think the process in Ireland anyway were too low for what the car was truly worth a few years ago.
I'd blame our ridiculous tax system (€1809 pa) and the big R

They are just coming back up to proper prices now, and hopefully won't fall far from this level for a while.

Try buying a brand new, manual, naturally aspirated V8. You're looking at an Aston Martin or a Mustang. If that combination floats your boat, the RS4 is up there with the best. That set of circumstances will fuel demand and keep prices strong as there's nothing more modern to replace it. Future classic? I don't have a crystal ball, but only cars in pristine condition with low miles make any collector's garage anyway.

Drive it, enjoy it, then pat yourself on the back that you beat the depreciation curve when the time comes to sell.

Just my £0.02

Cheers,
Bryan
