Recommend me a good garage in Scotland

Post by BenzV8 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 3:09 pm

Hello :bigwave:

For those who do not know, I am based in Stirling and wish to be advised on places in the region to service/work on my RS4. I have looked up Star Performance in Fife and Autohaus in Edinburgh but I'd like a second opinion.

I went to Autohaus in Edinburgh to get a health check on the car (£54) and all seem well besides coolant leak from rear of engine and maybe NSF aux rad just starting to leak.

Before I commit as the car is due a service shortly, I would like to know if there are other more suitable places around.

Also I would like to meet with fellow owners around here if possible.

Many thanks
Ben.

I use star performance for my B8. Also used them for the s3 before it. Great garage. Rs4 was just in, 170 for a 1st service, fully itemised parts were at cost, and cheaper than I could source myself.

A4Audi in Clydebank, Glasgow are excellent. My Rs4 B7 has been looked after by Andy since I got it 4 years ago. I got some extensive work completed on the engine last year due to a valve issue. They know the Rs4 very well as everytime I'm in they seem to have one in for a bit of work. They will do carbon clean, disc skims, oil coiler etc. but don't have any DRC equipment so can only replace with coilovers. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

autohaus had my old b7 rs4 in few years back carbon clean deflap, fluid change the works, I supplied all parts and they were happy for me to do that, top work could not fault them. don't want to rip you off unlike some other audi specialists in Scotland..

Agree with psglas, Andy at A4 Audi in Clydebank is excellent. They've been looking after my RS4 B7 for the three years I've had it. I also agree they know the model well as they often have another one in for servicing or MOT. They also fitted my coil overs when the DRC failed.
The main reason I entrusted them with my Avant was because they had an RS4 engine out (possibly yours psglas?) when I went in for a chat in 2013. They know their stuff, they are well trained, polite, courteous, and nowhere near as expensive as main dealer.
I advise anyone nearby to use them for VAG cars, BMW, or Porsche

A4audi Clydebank are spot on. They completed the full timing chain replacement on my RS4 without any issues.
Would highly recommend Andy and his team they definitely know there stuff.

Fantastic guys, thank you ever so much. A4Audi it is. I rang them earlier to book a major service for Tuesday. My car had not been service for 18 months (it has Audi longline service option) but it really needs it now as it dynoed at only 363.7bhp yesterday

I might squeeze in a dyno run after the service to see if there is any improvement, might consider carbon clean as it has never been done and the car is at 91000miles.

Hi Ben,

Am also in the Stirling area, have a Mugello Blue Avant.

I took mine to A4 in Glasgow for an inspection when I bought it, and they'd get another thumbs up from me.

Might be handy to meet up and compare notes sometime..

Cheers,
Jon.

Hi Jon,

Great! There are so many owners in and around Aberdeen I am jealous. I was thinking how lonely it was that I was the only one in Stirling. I am taking the car to A4 tomorrow for a health check and a major service. Please when can we meet? I also have a Mugello Blue Saloon - classy colour that :beerchug:
